横須賀市観光情報によると、アメリカ政府機関の封鎖に伴い中止となる旨、米海軍横須賀基地から連絡があり、警察をはじめとした関係機関と協議した結果、主催者である一般社団法人横須賀市観光協会及び共催である横須賀市は、「よこすか開国花火大会2025」を安全に開催することができないと判断し、やむを得ず開催中止となったそうです。

In our post on September 26 (Friday), we announced that the “Yokosuka Kaikoku Fireworks Festival 2025” was scheduled to be held on October 5 (Sunday).
However, according to the official Yokosuka City Tourism Information, the event has been canceled.
The U.S. Navy Yokosuka Base informed the organizers that, due to the U.S. government shutdown, they would not be able to proceed with the event. After discussions with the police and other related organizations, the organizers — the Yokosuka City Tourism Association and the City of Yokosuka — decided that it would not be possible to hold the festival safely.
